Collection: Palapalai x Lehua

This design brings together two beloved plants from our forests: palapalai and lehua. Palapalai is that soft, lacy fern often used in hula and lei—it’s lightweight, flexible, and carries the wisdom of our kūpuna. It’s a favorite for lei making because it’s easy to work with and holds its shape beautifully.

Lehua, the fiery blossom of the ʻōhiʻa tree, is full of mana and meaning. It symbolizes strength, love, and resilience. Traditionally, lehua was used in lāʻau lapaʻau (Hawaiian herbal medicine) to ease childbirth pain. Since picking lehua can harm the ʻōhiʻa tree, we created this design so you can wear its beauty without taking from the land.

Together, palapalai and lehua represent grace and strength—qualities that live within each of us. Whether you’re at the beach, dancing hula, or just out and about, this print lets you carry a piece of the forest with you, no gathering needed.
